March 2018: Worship Themes


March 4, 2018       “To See Again”

Scripture: Mark 10:46-52  A blind man receives his sight

Focus Verse:   “Many sternly ordered him to be quiet, but he cried out even more loudly, “Son of David, have mercy on me.” (Mark 10:48)

Theme: Faith continues to look to the Lord for help even when discouraged by others.


March 11, 2018      “Giving the Lord His Due”

Scripture: Mark 12:1-11  Parable of the Tenants

Focus Verse:   “He had still one other, a beloved son. Finally he sent him to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.” (Mark 12:6)

Theme: Some want to keep the Lord at a distance while others make him the center of their lives.


March 18, 2018:    “She Did What She Could”

Scripture: Mark 14:3-9  Jesus is anointed for his burial..

Focus Verse:  Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, wherever the good news is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in remembrance of her.” (Mark 14:9)

Theme: Following Jesus means accepting our role to further his mission.


March 25, 2018:    Palm/Passion Sunday

Scripture: Mark 11:1-10  Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem

Focus Verse:  The crowds shouted at Jesus, “Blessed is the coming kingdom of our ancestor David.  Hosanna in the highest heaven.” (Mark 11:10)

Theme:  There is no greater blessing than to have Jesus Christ be the king of our lives.

April 1, 2018         Easter Sunday

Scripture:  Mark 16:1-7 The resurrection of Jesus Christ

Focus Verse: “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him.” (Mark 16:6)
