**ALL programs are currently on hold due to COVID-19**
As Women in Mission. . .
We work together in smaller groups throughout the year including, but not limited to, “Crafters” (which meets TBA) and the “Knitters Group” (which meets most 1st & 3rd Saturday mornings) to prepare for our Hi Ho fair held each year in November. All of the proceeds from the fair help to support missions locally and globally through health clinics, schools, neighborhood centers, jobs programs and missionaries. These groups have also worked on other mission minded ideas including, dresses for Dress a
Girl Around the world.
United Methodist Women (UMW) Groups
Lydia Circle
This group meets the 3rd Tuesday, Sept-June, at 7 pm with a rotating location
including women’s homes and the church. This year’s study will be the book: Boundless:What Global Expressions of Faith teach Us about Following Jesus, by Bryan Bishop.
Knitting Group
Meets 1st & 3rd Saturday at 9:30 am at Alberta Hoagland’s house.
Facilitator: Alberta Hoagland
As Women in Service. . .
Although each opportunity listed above could be described aptly as “Women in Service” we are looking here at South Church to expand this area to include
not only women who would consider helping with receptions for families in need, perhaps after a funeral, but also helping families with illness, or in crisis, by helping to provide meals. Each of these groups comes together a few times a year
Examples of which are…
* For the Hi Ho Fair (November 4, 2017)
* The Monday eve. of Holy Week for the Upper Room Meal
* A December gathering for a Christmas Program
Newcomers are always welcome
