Math Night

On April 25th South UMC sponsored Math Night at Washington School. This program offered participation in fun math games for all students and their families (over 150 people participated). Additionally, SUMC provided students and families with a book to take home, a fun, family friendly logic game and topped it off with a pizza dinner! Thanks to everyone who helped by participating or providing a game.

2nd Grade Field Trip to Trinity College

On June 3rd South UMC sponsored a field trip for all 2nd graders to Trinity College. Our sponsorship included bus transportation and lunch at the college. We received the following in a letter of thanks along with 30 thank you notes from the students.

"On behalf of Washington School administration, second grade teachers, students, and parents, thank you for sponsoring the field trip to Trinity College. We believe, it is never to early to instill a love of education and the possibilities education can bring. Thank you for sharing our vision and allowing our second grade an experience that will open their eyes and minds to educational opportunities beyond high school and eventually meaningful careers that can be theirs if they work hard at school now."
